Sofia Vergara says she will not run around naked when "Modern Family" wins at the Primetime Emmy Awards, but she will walk. A guys magnet, the actress who portrays the sexy second wife to Ed O'Neill's Jay Pritchett is answering the challenge put up by the show's team to campaign for an Emmy win. An ad was put up on Variety last month as part of "for your consideration" campaign, stating that Vergara would run naked down Sunset Boulevard if the show wins in the Best Comedy category over "Nurse Jackie", "30 Rock", "The Office", "Glee" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm". The catch is "Cast member may change without notice."

After vacationing in Hawaii to close out their smash, Emmy-nominated freshman season, the cast of ABC's Modern Family next heads to Colombia to meet Gloria's family. Well, at least if the stars get their wish. After producers suggested they'd be taking the family on one vacation a year, Colombia has emerged as the cast's leading destination choice. "The family should go meet Gloria's family in Cartagena," Sofia Vergara (Gloria) told me Tuesday evening on the Twentieth Century Fox lot, where the stars performed a live table read of an upcoming episode for members of the television academy. "Colombia's very safe right now. The people there would go crazy and the government would completely help out with filming."

Cam and Mitchell want to get married.Yes, if Eric Stonestreet (Cam) gets his way, there will be a gay wedding on 'Modern Family.' "There is no doubt that is going to happen," Stonestreet told New York Post about a wedding between his and Jesse Tyler Ferguson's characters. Stonestreet said he has kept in mind the legality of the issue, but he still hasn't ruled out a wedding for the characters. The actor said one option could be for the characters travel to a locale where gay marriage is legal. Their marriage isn't on the immediate horizon. Executive producer Christopher Lloyd told the Post the show generally avoids overly political issues, but they haven't ruled it out. However, the Emmy-nominated duo will be talking about another hot-button issue -- adopting another child. "They will talk about it because I think they have been pleasantly surprised with the experience so far," Lloyd said. "But I don't think it is something we will rush in to." Source Here |

Nathan Lane will guest-star on Modern Family as Pepper, Cameron and Mitchell's flamboyant and oft-mentioned friend, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Lane approached co-creators and executive producers Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd about appearing on the sitcom and was a perfect fit for the part, Levitan told USA Today, who first reported the casting. His appearance is slated for early fall.
Lane may be one of the last casting coups for a while. Though many big-name stars have expressed interest in doing the show, Levitan said they're "toning down on stunt casting."
"We don't want to turn into a guest of the week," he said. "The audience loves our characters and we have enough of them."
Modern Family returns Sept. 22 at 9/8c.

According to producer Steve Levitan, Modern Family won't change much next season. In other words, it will remain the funniest show on TV. At an event at The Paley Center in California this week, the producer was asked about upcoming storylines on the ABC hit. He replied: "The stories are very similar to the first season, but we just keep digging deeper and putting new characters together and searching for new dynamics. It's going to feel just like season one, but hopefully much better." To Read More Click Here.

The cast of Modern Family literally gets shaken up next season when an earthquake hits! The trembler is just a small quake but has residual aftershocks for the whole family. "It's a very tiny little earthquake but spins stories off into different directions," co-executive producer Brad Walsh told TV Guide Magazine at the Paley Center Presents 'Inside the Writer's Room: Modern Family' on Monday in L.A. "It's going to be about how they react to the earthquake and the problems that it brings to the surface." One of the knee-shaking repercussions is that Mitchell and Cameron use the quake as an excuse to get out of a party, which backfires on them with the usual hilarious results. Also, "Jay decides he doesn't want to go to church that day, and Gloria sees it as a sign of God," reveals co-creator/executive producer Steve Levitan. "It's just a shaker that knocks things off shelves - no one is pinned under a dresser." To Read More Click Here.

Though the actors who announce the Emmy nominations are often awarded with one of their own, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara had no inkling that a nomination for best supporting actress in a comedy series was coming her way. "I'm so new to acting and America, so I didn't know it meant something when they invite you here," she tells TV Guide Magazine. "Somebody should have told me!" There was, however, one nod she was expecting. "I was completely sure that Modern Family was going to be nominated [for best comedy]. We had such an amazing year." Vergara, who is in the same category as co-star Julie Bowen, calls their shared honor "fantastic." She adds that it already feels like they've all won. "The whole cast is nominated, so we're going to have a great table. Do you sit at a table? No? We'll all go together, so we'll have fun!"
